Is your baseline risk assessment a document on a shelf instead of controls someone checks in the field?
With Inspecable Mining switched on for your site, risk assessments sit in one register, a competent person reviews and approves the baseline HIRA, and continuous checks verify its controls in the field.
Baseline Risk Assessment (HIRA) Register and Critical Control Checks | Inspecable Mining
This web dashboard tutorial covers the risk register (risk assessments, hazard identifications and job safety analyses, exported to Excel), a risk assessment with its hazards, ratings and PDF, Excel or Word exports, the Baseline HIRA screen and its risk matrices, continuous checks that the field team runs on the phone, even with no signal, where a not adequate verdict raises a finding, loop closure, and the organisation knowledge base. All of these come with Inspecable Mining switched on for your site. Anything SpecBot drafts is advisory: a competent person approves every baseline, and an authorised person confirms every proposed action. Recorded in a live demonstration organisation.

Introduction
This video covers risk management with Inspecable Mining switched on for your site. You'll see the risk register, how a baseline is built and reviewed, and how continuous checks verify its controls in the field.
Where it lives
With Inspecable Mining switched on for your site, a Risk Management section appears in the sidebar: the risk register, baseline HIRA, continuous checks, loop closure, COP drafting and the knowledge base. It's switched on per organisation.
The risk register
The register lists your risk assessments, hazard identifications and job safety analyses, with each one's risk level, status, number of hazards and valid-until date. Filter by status, level and type, and export the whole register to Excel.
A risk assessment
Open an assessment to see each hazard with its consequence and likelihood, and the standard it relates to, such as SANS 3000. Export it to PDF, Excel or Word for the people doing the work. Edit a hazard to change its rating or controls, and changes are kept in the amendment history. Anything SpecBot drafted carries an advisory notice, and stays pending until a competent person confirms or rejects it.
Baseline HIRA
Baseline HIRA is where a full baseline is built. Pick the operation and the risk matrix, then start blank, import your own register, or start from a method statement. Whichever way you start, it's a draft that a competent person reviews and approves. The risk matrices tab holds the matrices your ratings use. Start from the platform's five by five, or copy and edit your own levels, bands and rules, then publish a version and choose the default. A baseline's matrix can't change once it's confirmed.
Continuous checks
Continuous checks take a confirmed baseline into the field. A supervisor schedules a check with a date and an assignee, and the field team runs it on the phone, item by item, even with no signal. Each item names the risk and the control to verify. The person records a verdict, control in place, not adequate or not applicable, with a note. A not adequate verdict raises a finding automatically, so it lands in the findings register.
Loop closure
Loop closure starts from a finding. Describe what happened, and SpecBot drafts a five-whys analysis and corrective actions. It's advisory only: an authorised person confirms each action before it reaches the CAPA register.
Knowledge base
The knowledge base holds your own SOPs, standards and manuals. Upload PDF, Word or Excel files, and they're indexed so SpecBot can answer from them, with citations. Treat its answers as advice, and check them before you act.
Recap
So: keep your risk assessments in one register. Build a baseline, which a competent person reviews and approves. Then verify its controls in the field with continuous checks. All of this comes with Inspecable Mining switched on for your site. Next, see how to run an incident from the first report to close-out. Every tutorial is on our website, linked on screen now.
