Heading to a site with no signal and need your inspection app to keep working?
Install the Inspecable field app from Google Play and open it once with signal, and it keeps up to 500 assets, your checklists and your open work on the phone.
Install an Offline Inspection App and Get It Ready for No-Signal Sites | Inspecable (Android)
This tutorial covers installing on Android 7 or later and signing in with your invite, the first-launch note on location and camera (location is saved with a record only while you do that task, never tracked in the background), the status chip, the menu with Sync Data and Replay App Tour, and what happens when the signal drops. The app syncs only while it is open, so open it again when you are back in coverage. Recorded from the field app in a live demonstration organisation.

Introduction
In this video you will install the Inspecable field app, get through the first launch, and get your phone ready for a site with no signal, so your work carries on when the coverage drops.
Before you start
Install Inspecable from Google Play on any phone running Android 7 or later. Sign in with the email invite your administrator sent you. When Android asks, allow location, camera and notifications. The camera is for photos, scans and QR labels.
First launch
On first launch, before Android asks for anything, the app explains how it uses each feature. Location is saved with a record only while you are doing that task, and never tracked in the background. Read it, then tap Got it.
Home and the status chip
You land on Home. Keep an eye on the top bar, next to the menu. That is where the status chip appears when you are offline, or when work is waiting to sync. When everything has been sent, it stays out of the way.
The menu
Open the menu at the top. Sync Data sends anything waiting and refreshes your lists, straight away. Replay App Tour walks you through the app again, one step at a time. Close it whenever you like.
Get ready for no signal
Before you go out, open the app with signal and leave it open for a minute. It warms up by keeping a copy on the phone: up to five hundred assets, your checklists, and your open work. Open any documents you will need, so they can be read offline. And remember, it syncs only while the app is open.
When the signal drops
Here is the signal dropping. The chip turns to Offline, and Home says it is showing saved data. Your lists are still there, and new work saves on the phone. When coverage comes back, the app says so and syncs.
Recap
So: install from Google Play and sign in with your invite. Read the first-launch note and allow the permissions. And open the app with signal before you head out, so your work is on the phone. Next, see how Home, My Day and the plus button set up your day. Every tutorial is on our website, linked on screen now.
