How do you get near misses reported from the floor before they become incidents?
On the Inspecable field app for Android, anyone can report an incident or a near miss, or record a safety observation, from the phone, even with no signal.

This tutorial reports a near miss (what happened, the type and severity, the worst credible outcome, whether work was stopped, where it happened and who was affected), follows it in your own reports while the investigation runs on the web dashboard, and records a positive PPE observation by category. Reports save on the phone with no signal and sync while the app is open. Recorded from the field app in a live demonstration organisation.

Introduction
In the next few minutes you will report a near miss from your phone, follow it in your own reports, and record a safety observation, the good kind as well as the bad.
The safety hub
Open Safety from the plus button on Home, or from More. It holds the reports people make on the ground: an incident or near miss, a safety observation, a toolbox talk, and drill attendance. Your organisation chooses which of these are switched on.
Report a near miss
Tap Report Incident. Say in a few words what happened. The type is set to near miss, and the severity to low. Change them if you need to. Each type asks its own questions. For a near miss, give the worst credible outcome, and say whether work was stopped. The time is filled in for you, and your location is attached. Say where it happened, and add the details. You can add the people affected, and photos or a video. Tap Report. With signal it goes straight up. With no signal it says it is saved offline, and it syncs when you are back in coverage.
Follow your report
Your own reports are listed under the four tiles. Tap one to see what you reported and where it stands. The investigation is run on the web, and this view shows its stage as it moves.
Record an observation
Observations are for behaviour, good or bad. Tap Safety Observation, choose positive, negative or near miss, and a category such as PPE or housekeeping. Here the crew changing the crusher liners wore all their PPE for the whole job, so it is a positive one. Add where it was, and the person you observed if you want to, then tap Record. Like the incident, it saves with no signal and syncs later.
