Inspecable vs Intelex
Intelex is enterprise EHSQ software: environment, health and safety, quality, risk and ESG in one suite, owned by Fortive. A SHEQ manager at a mid-sized South African mine or plant compares it with Inspecable when the group wants one suite and the site wants something the crew will use underground. This page compares the two from Intelex’s own pages, read on 5 October 2026.
Where Intelex may be the better fit
Breadth across EHSQ and ESG
Environment, quality, risk, supplier and ESG modules beside health and safety, an Application Builder on Enterprise and an API. Inspecable covers safety, inspection, assets and field operations only.
Scheduled recurring inspections and an iPhone app
Inspections are scheduled with notifications, and the native iOS and Android app sits on the Advanced and Enterprise plans. Inspecable assigns with a due date and has no iPhone app.
Thirty-three years and named mining references
Founded 1992, 1,400 clients stated, offices on three continents, and Agnico Eagle, Boart Longyear and Metso Minerals named on its mining page. Inspecable has no approved customer references.
Where Inspecable is different
Enforced closure of a corrective action
Closure is refused without a method, evidence and a signature, and the closer cannot be the assignee. Intelex describes creating and tracking corrective action plans; its pages do not describe enforced closure.
South African records, not a generic EHS model
A legal register seeded with MHSA or OHS Act obligations, clause-level conformance for ISO 45001, SANS 3000-1 and the MHSA, a contractor compliance register, and an AI check against the MHSA corpus. Intelex’s mining page names no South African regulation.
Offline on the default plan, priced in rand
Inspections, incidents and near misses offline on Android for every customer, at R150 per field user per month. Intelex’s native offline app is on its quote-only plans; Safety Essentials gets a responsive web app and starts at 25 users in US dollars.
What each one does, as its own pages describe it
| Area | Inspecable | Intelex |
|---|---|---|
| Working with no signal | Inspections, incidents, near misses and toolbox talks run on the Android app with no signal and sync when the app is opened back in range. One online warm-up first. Web dashboard for the office. | Full offline writes on the native app: incidents, inspections and observations with photos, voice notes and GPS, syncing on reconnection. The native app is listed on Advanced and Enterprise only; Safety Essentials gets responsive web. |
| After a failed item | A failed step raises a tracked issue with a due date on the spot, offline. Closure is refused without a method, evidence and a signature, enforced in the database, and the closer cannot be the assignee. | Create and track corrective action plans from inspections. Enforced closure: not described on the pages read. |
| A record you can hand over | Every inspection carries a hash-chained history of sign-offs and amendments you can verify from the dashboard or the phone, plus a signed PDF per inspection and a ZIP export by date range. | Reporting and dashboards across the suite; reviewers note report building can need SQL. A verifiable per-inspection history: not described on the pages read. |
| South African compliance | A legal register seeded with MHSA obligations or an OHS Act pack, clause-level conformance for ISO 45001, SANS 3000-1 and the MHSA, and an AI standards report that checks a completed inspection against the MHSA corpus with a person confirming each finding. | A mining and metals page with mobile and offline capabilities and named customers, but no MHSA, MSHA or ISO 45001 named on it. No African office listed. |
| Scheduling | Assign a checklist to a named person with a due date; they are emailed, it shows on their My Day list, and it is marked overdue if it slips. An assignment can repeat daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually, and completing one creates the next. | Schedule inspections with real-time notifications. |
| Breadth | Safety, inspections, permits, incidents, documents, training, assets and the legal register on one edition; work orders, job cards, dispatch, parts and time and attendance on the Operations edition. | Health and safety, environment, quality, risk and ESG modules; training, document control, meetings and observations are paid add-ons on Safety Essentials. |
| Platform | Android app on Google Play and a web dashboard. No iPhone app. Integrations are custom work, quoted on request. | Web, plus a native iOS and Android app on the quoted plans. App Store rating 2.1 from 113 ratings. API on Enterprise. |
| Pricing | R150 per field user and R250 per admin per month, shown in your own currency on the pricing page and billed in rand; a 14-day trial with no card, every trial on the Safety & Compliance edition. The Operations edition is switched on by Inspecable. | Safety Essentials USD 44 per user per month, minimum 25 users, billed annually (USD 13,200 a year floor). Advanced and Enterprise quote only. No rand pricing. |
| Where they are | Built and supported from Johannesburg for South African mines, process plants, manufacturing sites, utilities and heavy-equipment fleets. | Toronto, with offices in Denver, Reading and Singapore. Wholly owned by Fortive since 2019. No African office listed. |
