Inspecable vs Inspectivity
Inspectivity is a Perth company whose customers run commissioning, completions and electrical inspections on oil, gas and resources projects. A plant integrity manager comparing it with Inspecable is usually weighing engineering-inspection depth against South African safety and compliance records. This page compares the two from Inspectivity’s own pages, read on 5 October 2026.
Where Inspectivity may be the better fit
Engineering inspection depth
Completions, commissioning, EEHA and flange management, with published case studies including Ok Tedi Mining in Papua New Guinea. Inspecable has no approved customer references and no completions module.
A published security posture
ISO 27001:2022 and ISO 9001 certification, a customer-selectable AWS region, a single-tenant option and a staging environment on Enterprise. Inspecable publishes none of these.
Open API and SSO, and free read-only seats
API and SSO are sold openly on Enterprise, and the Essentials plan includes three read-only users for managers who only look. Inspecable offers its API on request.
Where Inspecable is different
What happens after a failed item
A failed step raises a tracked issue with a due date on the spot, offline, and closure is refused without a method, evidence and a signature. Inspectivity’s public pages do not describe enforced closure.
South African compliance records
A legal register seeded with MHSA or OHS Act obligations, clause-level conformance for ISO 45001, SANS 3000-1 and the MHSA, and an AI check of a completed inspection against the MHSA corpus. Inspectivity’s material is Australian and sector-generic.
Safety capture and rand pricing
Incidents, near misses, toolbox talks and drills offline on Android, permits to work on the web, and billing in rand. Inspectivity bills in Australian dollars with no African office.
What each one does, as its own pages describe it
| Area | Inspecable | Inspectivity |
|---|---|---|
| Working with no signal | Inspections, incidents, near misses and toolbox talks run on the Android app with no signal and sync when the app is opened back in range. One online warm-up first. Web dashboard for the office. | Full offline for inspections on the Android field app, by the vendor’s FAQ, pushed to the cloud on reconnection. What must be pre-loaded and the sync interval are not stated publicly. |
| After a failed item | A failed step raises a tracked issue with a due date on the spot, offline. Closure is refused without a method, evidence and a signature, enforced in the database, and the closer cannot be the assignee. | Inspection and maintenance tasks are created, scheduled and assigned from the cloud portal. Enforced closure of a finding: not described on the pages read. |
| A record you can hand over | Every inspection carries a hash-chained history of sign-offs and amendments you can verify from the dashboard or the phone, plus a signed PDF per inspection and a ZIP export by date range. | Digital inspection formats and reports; a reviewer notes PDF size with photos. A verifiable history of sign-offs and amendments: not described on the pages read. |
| South African compliance | A legal register seeded with MHSA obligations or an OHS Act pack, clause-level conformance for ISO 45001, SANS 3000-1 and the MHSA, and an AI standards report that checks a completed inspection against the MHSA corpus with a person confirming each finding. | Industries listed include energy and mining, utilities, construction and transport. No MHSA, OHS Act or South African content on the pages read. |
| Asset integrity | An asset register with per-asset history and manuals, isometric drawings with revision control, and CML wall-thickness readings that raise an action below the minimum you set. QR label per asset. | Risk-based inspection, pipeline, flange management, completions and commissioning, drawing mark-up, barcode and RFID capture. |
| Checklists and templates | Your own checklists. Import an Excel, PDF or a photo of the paper form and AI turns it into a digital checklist you review before it goes live. No public template library. | No-code inspection formats built in the portal. |
| Platform | Android app on Google Play and a web dashboard. No iPhone app. Integrations are custom work, quoted on request. | Android field app and a web portal; no iOS app by the vendor’s FAQ. API and SSO on Enterprise. |
| Pricing | R150 per field user and R250 per admin per month, shown in your own currency on the pricing page and billed in rand; a 14-day trial with no card, every trial on the Safety & Compliance edition. The Operations edition is switched on by Inspecable. | Essentials AUD 75 per month for one user plus three read-only users; Professional AUD 600 per month for five users plus twenty read-only; Enterprise custom. 14-day trial, no card. |
| Where they are | Built and supported from Johannesburg for South African mines, process plants, manufacturing sites, utilities and heavy-equipment fleets. | West Perth, Australia; founded 2012. No South African or African office, partner or named customer on the pages read. |
